Having good credit is a huge advantage when making financial decisions in your life. It opens up opportunities to further your business, personal lifestyle standard, or fulfill any travel ambitions.

Unfortunately, bad credit can do the opposite for you. Unpaid bills, bankruptcy, large debt to service ratios, and other circumstances can put a real damper on what type of credit a banking institution will be willing to grant you.

If you are someone who is in the bad credit category, then there are options available to help relieve the situation. I have been looking over RMCN Credit Services website. They have ordered up a LinkWorth LinkPost review. I always enjoy these opportunities as it gives a good opportunity to look over a site in detail.

Credit Repair Using Credit Scores

RMCN offers services to review your financial situation and generate a credit score. The score basically describes the likelihood that you will default on a loan within the next 24 months. It can be used to help close on mortgages or other loans.

Basically, RMCN is in the business of credit repair. There goal is to help you attain the necessary loans and at better rates then you might be able to attain on your own. If you need credit help then read over their site for information regarding how a credit score will be calculated for you and how it can be used.

Highlights Of RMCN's Website

At the beginning of the page are some examples of what bad credit can cost you in your mortgage or car loans. Then they follow up with an overview of what is used and what is not used in determining your credit score.

On the Credit Scores page there is a large amount of good information. It is organized quite well and you could almost print this off to read if you wanted as there are several pages here.

The Do's and Don'ts sections are very good. If you want to start down the path of achieving a better credit rating, then read this over. Nothing that is rocket science, but a very good overall for establishing some goals and focus points in your current financial future.

Further down the page there is a breakdown of what is a good score or not and what some of the reason codes are on the different credit score reports.

The Serengeti

Serengeti is a sight that everyone should see sometime in their life. Wide plains and and abundance of wildlife. Looking out at the wide expanse is a unique experience (and I was raised on the prairies).

This was part of my trip to East Africa in 2006.

I have a found a new blog called MarcoRichter.net - Miscellaneous Ramblings of a Dot Com Tycoon that I have started to read on a regular basis. He has good ideas and even though his is posting information I have already read, they are refreshing and organized in a very good manner.

The layout of his site is very slick and he does not have the 2 million different widgets that clutter up a lot people's blogs. If you want a lesson in design, check out his site.

What I Like About MarcoRichter.net's Interface

In his sidebar you will find only the following things:

  • Search box
  • RSS and Email signup links
  • Featured Articles with only 5 entries in it
  • Categories - and there is only 5, which is nice.
  • Archives
  • Some ranking widget

It is very simple looking and each entry in there actually catches your eye because it isn't a huge mess.

At the bottom of the page he has Recent Posts, Recent Comments, and Top Commentators For The Week. The top commentators listing provides a list of individuals putting in the most comments recently and provides a link back to their site. A bit of an incentive to be on that list. Good idea.

Good Articles

His site has a lot of very good articles on what you can do to you site to improve rankings and traffic. Here are a list of my favourite articles.

  • Increase Blog Traffic

This is an excellent post. It has a 25 item list which he turns into a link and writes an article for that item. Has done 7 of them so far and they keep coming. Check it out. His best article thus far.

  • 10 Ways To Improve Your Blogs SEO In 5 Minutes Or Less

Excellent overall summary on what you can do to help your blog achieve more search engine results. It links to a number of other articles he has written, which in turn link out to some other bloggers.

  • Viral Recommendation Carousel

A list that never gets any bigger by revolving through a list of blogs bloggers read. I like this method because it provides a link back to someone without growing into the massive lists in the other chain articles. Plus, you can only pick one blog to add to the list.

One of my new favourite blogs is MarcoRichter.net. He has lots of good tips and I wrote a review of MarcoRichter recently on my own site.

One of his recent ideas is a carousel for linking out to other blogs that you like and keeping blogs from other people's lists in the main list. I tried this one before with a RSS signup post called Feed My Feed that is what gave me my initial injection of RSS readers.

Please join in if you want and I would appreciate a link back here saying where you found the article at.

So here we go.

– copy and paste from this line (including the line) —

Why this will work

  • It provides value through personal recommendations
  • Links to your blog with linktext of your choice
  • Backlinks come from within a dedicated content about your blog
  • Rotating content will prevent it from penalties from search engines
  • It is viral - more participants means greater effect

How it works
Simply follow these few steps to make this one working for you:

  • Create a new post on your blog and start it with a few words about how you came into this carousel.
  • Copy and paste the entire text between the red lines
  • Check if all links are working after copy and paste
  • Remove the very last recommendation from the list
  • Add a recommendation of a blog you love to the top of the list with at least 2-3 sentences about why you love to read this blog and add a little note, that you recommend this together with a link to your blog. Here is an example:

ThoughtsFromMyLife.com is a blog I love to read on a daily basis. It provides information about blogging, finance, photography, travel, computers, and other interesting topics. From detailed how-to articles to some detailed analysis on your credit card reward points, Neil covers a wide variety of information that applies to day to day life. Recommended by: Neil Galloway

Blogs I recommend because I love to read them daily:

  • Blogging Fingers - run by Matt Jones. He is a 18 year old from England who has already built and sold a blog for $1,000 within 3 months. He has a lot of tips and recommendations for bloggers and seems a lot old then his age. Recommended by: Neil Galloway

  • bloggingtips.com - More than 10 authors contribute interesting blogging topics to this site. If you want to stay updated on what´s hot in the blogosphere, this blog is a must read. Recommended by: Marco Richter

  • bluejar.com - run by Sarah Pacopac does more than blogging topics and goes out to browser relates issues and also provides some design and affiliate marketing information. Recommended by: Marco Richter

  • OneMansGoal.com - run by Bryan Clark is a good stop for bloggers wanting to learn more about generating visitors for their own blogs. He adds some time management topics for those among us looking for optimization of their daily routine. Recommended by: Marco Richter

  • topsecretblogger.com - This one is a completely community driven project. Everyone is invited to sign up and write a post on the blog. Many contest will be attracting other bloggers to come in and join the project. I think this will become even more influential in the future, it´s definitely worth taking a closer look. Recommended by: Marco Richter

  • probloggersmatrix.com - Mark´s blog is well-established and concentrates on topics about the relationship between bloggers and their readers. His posts are often titled as questions, what helps starting a conversation with the audience. Recommended by: Marco Richter

  • jtpratt.com - run by John Pratt is a quite new blog about blogging mistakes and how to avoid them. John has been running websites for more than 10 years, so he knows about the hard way to learn from mistakes. Recommended by: Marco Richter

This carousel has been started by Marco Richter on viral linkbuilding - the basic concept is a slightly adjusted version of Alex Sysoef´s reciprocal review carousel.

This story was recently on Digg, but I am going to repeat it again here. If you have ever wondered how much it costs to name a stadium, ESPN provides a list that gets kept up to date.

Here is the Stadium Name Contracts on ESPN.

It is interested to see how cheap some stadiums are and how much more it is for others. I guess it all depends on market size and in Toronto, you get a lot more advertising then you would in, say, Edmonton.

Sunset On The Zambezi

When I first arrived in Livingstone, Zambia, we were scheduled to go on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi river. The view was awesome and was definitely a relaxing way to ease into our trip in East Africa that summer.

Night was coming here and I was down below getting ready to get off the boat. The sunset looked kind of neat looking through the dark windows of the bottom section of the boat.

This was part of my trip to East Africa in 2006.

I woke up today with a surprise. My RSS readership has jumped to 63 now. That is a new record for me and hopefully it will continue to go up.

What Did I Do?

It is always hard to actually tell, but my biggest change lately has been getting involved in other blogs and commenting. Easy and simple. My articles have been posting regulary and this is the only other thing I changed.

It has been nice as I enjoy the break from my own blog.

If you are looking to expand your blog, then I will re-iterate the advice you hear on every "how to blog" site out there. Get involved in the blog community. Find a blog you like, read, comment, and enjoy.

Nintendo is is coming out with a television tuner for the Nintendo DS.

NDS TV Tuner Article

I was wondering when this would happen. Way back in the day, I had a Sega Game Gear (yeah, back in the day). An 8-bit handheld system with a backlit colour display. Was pretty cool at the time. Anyhow, they had tv tuners then, but we haven't really seen it since.

I will be impressed to see how well it actually works. Apparently it is only being released in Japan at this time, so you will have to order via eBay or something else if you want it.

Wake Boarding

Near the end of the day this wake boarder squeezed in a few more aerials. The weather was awesome as we sped along the water at Tie Lake, British Columbia.
