On my recent trip to the middle east, I had the opportunity to ride donkeys. Wasn't exactly something I was looking forward to, but it was a very fun experience. Reminded me of riding horses which is the usual animal here in North America.

I have always had a negative opinion about owning horses for riding. Unless you are really into it, it can be very expensive and time consuming to care for them. You need various horse supplies including riding equipment, food, medical treatments, a place to house them, and a trailer to transport them.
