My wife and I go through the effort of making travel arrangements every year. It takes a lot of time and preparation to get everything arranged. Along with timing and itinerary, cost is another major factor. We are always trying to find cheap flights to stretch our dollar as far as it can go.

We have technique down pretty good. Compare and compare more. Then take the routes and start breaking them down and look to switch between non affiliated carriers to get the cheapest price. Just make sure you have enough time between flights so you don't have connection problems.
