Trying Out New Wines

Written by Neil Galloway

Developing a taste for wine takes a bit of time. A lot of people like to drink it, but they feel awkward recommending or choosing a wine for a group of people. Very few people truly feel comfortable in their knowledge of wines.

I know the feeling as well. You go to the store to pick something out and it is very easy to just fall back into the trap of selecting good ol' faithful because you know you like it.

I came across an interesting club the other day. It is a wine of the month club for the Gold Medal Wine Club of California. Basically it lets you try new wines simply and conveniently.

They have a few different clubs you can belong to. Each one has a monthly cost associated to it, but they deliver 2 to 4 bottles of wine to your doorstep each month. They are selected by various people and it gives you an opportunity to try out a new wine that is recommended by others.

All of the wines are Californian, but I see on their site there is Italian wines as well. I think this is a great idea. The prices look fairly reasonable as well. You can go for the less expensive wines and only be looking at around $32 a month or you can get as high as $180 if you feel like it.
