Getting appropriate coverage in an accident can sometimes be very difficult. Especially when on of the parties involved is responsible. Insurance companies will be very aggressive in trying to spread the blame or opt out of covering certain costs.
I was on a website recently that specifically deals with semi truck accident situations. It speaks about how aggressive the company people can be. They will arrive to the scene right away and take information/quotes from you right away, even though you might still be disoriented a bit.
Regardless of who you are dealing with and the circumstances, it is also wise to just be very careful when speaking to anyone or giving out information. You need to protect yourself and step carefully through the situation.
