Representing Yourself With Business Cards
Business cards are a working tradition that has never gone away with the digital age. I still get them upon meeting new people, attending meetings, or grabbing business cards off the front desk of someone's office.
They are a useful tool. A quick representation of one's self with contact information and the ability to leave an impression. It seems kind of funny and I thought I would never have business cards myself. After a couple of jobs, I realized they are standard to have in the telecom and oil & gas.
This is a PayU2Blog, paid posting for GreatFX Business Cards. They have a slick little website set up for ordering cards with a variety of options.
Business Card Tips
What sets their site a little above the rest is that they have some articles about business cards that can help in your decision. One I like is Free Business Cards... But at What Cost?. Especially since I have done the free business card thing in the past.
Conclusion
I am a fan of business cards. If you are still at a flexible point in your career, you should have a decent card for contact purposes. When I graduated from university I had a card with my name, contact information, and degree designation. You can attach it with resumes, hand it out at seminars, and take it with you to interviews to pass on to other interviewers. It doesn't have to cost you a lot either. Just something clean and simple.
