Finally, the Canadian government has forced the phone companies to offer full phone number portability within a geographic area. What does this mean? You won't ever need to switch phone numbers again, unless you move.

Basically, as of today, you are allowed to keep you phone number in the following situtations.

1. You switch from one cell phone provider to another.
2. You want your cell phone number to go to a landline or the other way aruond.

Now if they could just get their prices and services to a reasonable level, we might actually start to trust them.
